My dear kind friend
I write in bed & with one eye nearly closed! But must write to thee to thank thee for thy note I do & will hope on thou hast made me understand the case-
I was not aware of difficulty of breathing —
I fear dear Aunt Sally, is, as yet, too sanguine
But I trust all in mercy will yet be well. I hope for another line or two from thee.
I <see> thy report
is as good as a medical one
Love to thy mother & thanks for her message —
I do indeed feel this anxiety
Thine affecly
